The Business Development Manager will engage with all parties to ensure business targets are reached and maximised against financial business profiles. The role will undertake development activities and support business opportunities and plans in line with company goals, implementing engagement plans and reporting via various forums on pipeline activity.

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Promoting and communicating the company’s offer
  • Develop & implement plans to prospect new business
  • Achieving monthly sales targets in line with the annual business plan and targets
  • Generating accurate sales reports for own area of activity
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders including employers and delegates

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven track record of L&D/Adult Education sales management and delivery
  • Strong sales knowledge and experience
  • Pitching/winning large new business opportunities

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate learning and development solutions in saleable propositions that encourage take up of the programmes and services by clients
  • Act as the first point of contact and representative of the company with selected clients
  • Promote the company’s brand in line with the company’s vision, mission, values, and principles
  • Work with internal and external colleagues to ensure programmes meet client expectations
  • Identify current and future capability gaps and deliver initiatives to address these with clients
  • Promote a learning culture for the client through effective planning, talent management and succession planning
  • Remain abreast with developments in the sector to best advice clients and develop solutions
  • Use innovation as a tool to achieve growth and encourage its development in others
  • Plan and prioritise personal sales activities towards achieving agreed business aims
  • Complete all necessary reporting to keep line management and the wider business informed and progress towards achieving agreed targets
  • Support develop and coordinate the active of the assign engagement officer(s)
