Lead IQA – Professional Service

Coyne Recruitment work with employers of choice within the skills sector. We are currently looking to support a fantastic apprenticeship provider in adding to their team. This role requires an outstanding Skill Coach who has relevant up to date exposure and experience of working with learner up to Lead IQA

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the Education & Skills Quality & Compliance Framework within own sphere of responsibility and contribute to the wider quality agenda to ensure consistency and compliance to internal and external policy, processes, guidelines and requirements.
  • Maintain leading industry best practice and awareness via awarding organisations, inspecting organisations and industry/sector bodies. Transfer knowledge and understanding to teams.
  • Lead the standardisation and best practice of verification of qualifications and standards using sampling plans, standards and driving forward through action planning learners who are making less than satisfactory progress.
  • Engage with EPAO organisations to ensure timely completion and regular monitoring of service level agreements and contracts in place. Plan and organise end point assessments with SDT’s, learners and employers to ensure completion of EPA in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with and safeguard the protection of direct approval from awarding organisations through good planning of external visits.
  • Plan and implement ongoing best practice and efficient delivery models, schemes of work and session plans with extension resources. Maintain standardised course folders to a very good standard.
  • Lead standardisation meetings that are planned at least quarterly, according to a standard set agenda and that drives up knowledge, understanding & the drive for improvement. As part of these standardisation, self-assessment and improvement planning will be fully embedded and recorded.
  • Provide and monitor the quality of both verbal and written feedback to IQAs and Skills Development Tutors that is detailed, constructive and developmental in order to improve understanding, the quality of standardised teaching, learning and assessment practice and the ability for individual IQAs and SDT’s to respond to challenges and impact positively on progression, achievement and positive outcomes for all.
  • Carry out observations of teaching, learning and assessment, including feedback from learners and employers, as per internal protocol. Set clear and consistent actions for IQA and SDT’s improvements and monitor progression through re-observation in a continuous cycle of CPD and continuous improvement. Instigate peer observations & innovative methods to reflect best practice.
  • Maintain complete CPD and CV records for yourself and the team within your remit.
  • Complete records fully and contemporaneously and ensure the prompt and managed completion of actions to enable timely submission and processing to maximise timely success.
  • Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant Lead IQA experience
  • IQA Award L4
  • Assessors A1, D23/33 or equivalent
  • Teaching qualification
  • Skills and Behaviours

  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
