Deliver all financial obligations and requirements, reflecting best accounting practices and full compliance with legal and accounting rules; provide a full and comprehensive accounting and reporting function for business units within the Group, including consolidated management accounts, budgets and forecasts whilst ensuring a operational value is considered at all times.

Work with the Group Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting to develop, monitor and embed system improvements to allow for improved informative and timely reporting. Develop month end reporting through key models to reduce the existing production timeline allowing for greater insight and responsiveness by the business to trends and outputs.


• Work with Group Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting to develop SMT reporting packs and more efficient ways of utilising Unit4 to report management information to all operational staff.

• Maintain and manage the Group Accounting Manual.

• Develop and identify efficiencies within the month end management accounts timetable.

• Manage the team of Management Accountants to deliver accurate and timely financial information to their business unit colleagues developing their ability to add value through insight and informed narrative.

• Develop and document the multiple methods of Income coming into the Finance system from all business units developing the Groups ability to report dynamically on different types and sources of income.

• Understanding and monitoring of the shared service charge calculations with FPA colleagues to ensure consistent and appropriate division.

• Manage and calculate the dilapidations provisions held by the group, working with the Facilities team to ensure full visibility of all leases

• Develop journal entry narratives in the system with the management accountants to ensure clarity over transactional investigation.

• Manage the Authority matrix within the data hierarchies within Unit4 for all transactional approvals.

• Create and implement a new Chart of accounts alongside the Group Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting.

• Develop and manage financial systems and processes to support business requirements and deliver efficiencies

• Support colleagues during audit process to provide analysis of financial results and key control documents.

• Support the Group Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting and the Technical Finance Manager with all audit planning, deliverables and queries.

• Support the team will fundamental reconciliation issues and their resolution, championing, embedding and training on their importance and methodology
